Coach Walid brings a wealth of experience, passion, and dedication to H2O Swim Team. As a former high-level athlete, he was a member of Tunisia’s National Swim and Water Polo Team before transitioning into coaching. With an extensive background in competitive swimming, personal training, and physical education, he has spent years helping swimmers unlock their full potential.
Since beginning his coaching career in 2008, Coach Walid has worked with schools and clubs across multiple countries, including Tunisia, Switzerland, Zambia, and the United States. Before moving to the U.S., he had the privilege of working alongside Olympic gold medalist coaches, contributing to national record-breaking performances and earning his team the Team of the Year award. His coaching has helped several swimmers achieve outstanding results, leading to full Division 1 college scholarships in the U.S.
Coach Walid spent four seasons as part of Team Santa Monica (TSM), where he played a vital role in developing swimmers of all levels—from beginners to national qualifiers. During his tenure, TSM earned a Top 100 Age Group Teams ranking, placing 41st nationwide and 7th in California among thousands of programs. His time at TSM allowed him to take on greater responsibilities and gain valuable experience coaching elite-level swimmers.
Currently, as the Head Coach of H2O Swim Team, Coach Walid is committed to building a program that fosters both personal and athletic growth. His passion for swimming extends beyond club coaching—he also works with the UCLA Swimming & Diving Team, assisting collegiate athletes, including Olympians and Junior/National Team members.
A proud USA Swimming and American Swimming Coaches Association (ASCA) member, Coach Walid dreams of taking his athletes to the Olympic stage. He firmly believes that with hard work, dedication, and the right guidance, anything is possible.
